Debbie Lewis - Equine Coach

I have been handling horses extensively for over 10 years and teaching horsemanship for well over 7 years.  It has been my privilege to learn from some of the best horse professionals in the world.   I have studied Pat Parelli's Natural Horsemanship  program through several certified Parelli instructors including Christi Rains, David Ellis, Mark Berry, and Dr. Grady Carter.  I have also spent time with Natural Horsemanship Expert, Brent Graef and his wife, Kris.  It has been a wonderful journey with these fine instructors as well as the home study material and tour stops provided by the Parelli Program.  This education propelled me into the study of " the horse" - an indepth detailed study of "the horse".  Many hours with my horses and my student's horses have also been my classroom.  Through the years, I experienced showing and trail riding, but nothing compared to the tranquility and positive therapy horses provided me by just "being" with them.  It has always been my experience that my students are receiving far more than riding lessons from our sessions together with horses.  Horses have much more to give then just riding them.  There is so much more.

I love teaching people how to ride horses and helping horse owners with their horses. I love training horses, but my favorite experiences with horses involve the exchange of relationship between horse and human.  It is a profound experience and it has occurred to me that I must share just how to connect with horses on a deeper level than a riding lesson can provide.

Informative quotes:

"At a time when horses are no longer required to work in our fields and carry us to war, they can do something arguably more important -----work on us."  From The Tao of Equus by Linda Kohanov.

"I've come to understand how talented horses can be in facilitating the work of human development."  From The Tao of Equus by Linda Kohanov.

"Since 1997, Epona Equestrian Services has offered empowerment workshops and private lessons to women who've suffered from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and the results have been impressive."   From The Tao of Equus by Linda Kohanov.

"A feeling of quiet ecstasy surrounds many female riders and their mounts, as if they've resurrected a lost part of themselves while galloping down the trail, as if all the centuries that men went to war on well-trained steeds seem trivial compared to a single moment of understanding between a teenage girl and her first bay mare."  From The Tao of Equus by Linda Kohanov.
